Tyler grew up playing sports and has always been active. In 2011, Tyler joined the Johns Creek Police Department. His job with the JCPD requires him to be in the best physical shape possible for his safety of his community, colleagues, and himself.
After he graduated from the police academy, Tyler struggled to find a training program that would keep him physically capable of handling any obstacle that he faced. He was introduced to a CrossFit-style workout by a friend and became intrigued. After his first Intro class he was hooked!
He quickly found that CFJC not only offered him a place to grow physically but also socially. He enjoyed the team-like atmosphere that CFJC offered and quickly became educated in all aspects of barbell movements with safety instructions and encouragement from the coaches. In March 2014, he received his Level 1 CrossFit Certification and began coaching on a regular basis.
He was recently offered the opportunity to try out for his agency’s SWAT team. In preparation of try-outs, he began to focus his training on becoming even faster, fitter and stronger. Tyler made the SWAT team and has this to say about the impact that CFJC had on his experience:
“I accomplished this goal of making the SWAT team only because my level of training through CFJC. I would have never been physically prepared for the team had I not began training at CFJC. When I coach my athletes at CFJC, I take every class seriously as if that single day’s workout could save their life. In every class, I strive to push my athletes to achieve levels of fitness that they never thought were imaginable.”
